Hello, my name is Xavier Smith, the founder of and lead instructor for Xcellent Solutions in Safety. I am a 10 year decorated veteran of the U.S. Air Force, a family man, and simply someone who care about helping others amongst other things! During my tenure in the Air Force, I suffered a heart attack at the young age of 29. Being an athlete, the thought of a “heart attack” did not even cross my mind until tests confirmed that one of my arteries had been clogged with 50% cholesterol! This and a few other life-changing events changed my sense of entitlement to one of gratitude and I knew that I was called to serve a higher purpose.
As a witness to senseless acts of violence both abroad in military service and here at home, I was strongly motivated to help others protect themselves. I have always loved teaching others and finally realized that it was part of my life purpose to do so. Thus, I enrolled in the Family Safety and Self Defense Institute and received an Instructor Certificate.
Armed with an extensive background in jujitsu and my instructor certification, I established Xcellent Solutions in Safety in 2006. My primary goal was to create a simple yet highly effective system of self-defense techniques that could be utilized and mastered by anyone. I am proud to say that I have achieved and exceeded that goal as my client testimonials have proved over the years!
